ICTY Weekly
Press Briefing

Date: 2 December 1998

Time: 11:30 a.m.

REGISTRY AND
CHAMBERS

Jim Landale, the
ICTY Spokesman, began today’s briefing by apologizing on behalf of the
Prosecutor and the Deputy Prosecutor who were unable to attend due to prior
engagements. Landale then made the following remarks:

The judgement
in the Furundzija case has been set for December 10th at 2 p.m. A
press release with all the details will be available after the briefing.

You should have
received a press release on the " further initial appearance" for
the amended indictment in the Omarska and Keraterm cases, which will also take
place on 10th December at 10 a.m. Again, copies are available after
the briefing for those who have not already received one.

After today’s
hearing in the Jelisic trial, proceedings will resume again on 25 January.

On the issue of
Notices of Appeal in the Celebici case the following:

Counsel for Mucic,
Delic and Landzo have filed a notice of appeal against the judgement and sentencing.
The Prosecution has filed a notice of appeal against the sentencing for Mucic
and against the judgement and sentencing for Delic and Delalic. Delalic has
filed a "cross appeal" against the notice of appeal by the Prosecution.

Finally, just
to let you know that the court recess for the holiday period will be between
21 December and 8 January. This does not mean that the Tribunal is closed, but
that the next hearing in court will be on 8 January.
