Prosecutor has filed motions to withdraw four indictments.

 

 

On Thursday 18 December 1997, the Office of the Prosecutor filed Motions to withdraw the indictments issued against four accused:

1. Marinko KATAVA (named in the indictment “Kupreskić & others”)
2. Pero SKOPLJAK (named in the indictment “Kordić & others”)
3. Ivan SANTIĆ (named in the indictment “Kordić & others”)

The Motions read as follows: “3. Upon further investigation and review of the available evidence, the Prosecutor is now satisfied that there is insufficient basis to justify proceeding to trial against (here follows the name of the accused) on any of the counts with which he is charged with in the indictment, and that in the interests of justice the indictment should now be withdrawn” (....)

4. Stipo ALILOVIĆ (named in the indictment “Kupreskic & others”)

The Motion reads as follows: “The Prosecutor has received confirmation that the accused is dead”. He died on 25 October 1995 in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

On Friday 19 December the Defence Counsel for the accused informed the ICTY Registry that they do not oppose the Prosecutor’s Motions.

The Motions are now before the appropriate Chambers.
