JUDGE CLAUDE JORDA CHOSEN AS ICTY’S PRESIDENT


AND JUDGE FLORENCE MUMBA AS VICE-PRESIDENT




Today, on Tuesday 16 November 1999, the Judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) have chosen Judge Claude Jorda (France) as President of the ICTY, and Judge Florence Mumba (Zambia) as Vice-President.


Pursuant to Rules 18 and 20 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence, the President and the Vice-President are elected for a two-year term.

Ce mardi 16 novembre 1999, les Juges du Tribunal Pénal International pour l’ex-Yougoslavie (T.P.I.Y.) ont choisi M. le Juge Claude Jorda comme Président du Tribunal, et Mme le Juge Florence Mumba comme Vice-Président.


En vertu des articles 18 et 20 du Règlement de Procédure et de Preuve, les mandats du Président et du Vice-Président ont une durée de deux ans.
