THE APPEALS CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal"),

NOTING that on 17 May 1999 counsel for Zlatko Aleksovski filed a Notice of Appeal Pursuant to Rule 108,

NOTING that the Office of the Prosecutor ("Prosecution") filed a Notice of Appeal on 19 May 1999,

NOTING that Zlatko Aleksovski’s appeal is against conviction,

NOTING that the third ground of the Prosecution appeal is against the length of Zlatko Aleksovski’s sentence,

NOTING the Prosecution submission that his sentence should be increased,

NOTING that subsequent to hearing the arguments of the parties on 9 February 2000, the Appeals Chamber rejected Zlatko Aleksovski’s appeal against conviction and allowed the third ground of the Prosecution Appeal, reserving its written judgement to a future date,

CONSIDERING that pending the Appeal Chamber’s written judgement, Zlatko Aleksovski should be held in the custody of the International Tribunal,

HEREBY ORDERS the detention on remand of ZLAKO ALEKSOVSKI and enjoins the Commanding Officer of the United Nations Detention Unit to detain him until further order.
