THE APPEALS CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal"),

BEING SEIZED OF "Appellant’s Request for An Extension of Page Limits and Filing Deadline Re Response to Prosecution’s Rebuttal Evidence and Arguments in Response to the Appellant’s Fourth Additional Evidence Motion on Appeal" filed on 22 July 2003 ("Motion");

NOTING that, in his Motion, the Appellant requests an extension of time to file his response brief to the "Prosecution’s Rebuttal Evidence and Arguments in Response to the Appellant’s Fourth Additional Evidence Motion on Appeal" ("Rebuttal Filing") until 4 August 2003, and that he further requests the authorization to file a response brief that is up to 13,500 words in length;

NOTING that the Appellant cites, inter alia, the length and complexity of the Rebuttal Filing, as well as the importance of the issues raised to this appeal and competing deadlines in other matters as the reasons for his requests;

NOTING that the Prosecution has indicated that it has no objection to the Motion;

CONSIDERING that the Rebuttal Filing is approximately 45 pages in length excluding the material contained in the accompanying annex;

CONSIDERING that, in light of the length and complexity of the Rebuttal Filing, good cause has been shown for the granting of an extension of time, and an extension of page limits is justified;

PURSUANT to part VII(16) of Practice Direction IT/155 Rev.1 and part (C) 7 of Practice Direction IT/184 Rev.1;

HEREBY GRANTS the Motion, and authorizes the Appellant to file a brief in response to the Rebuttal Filing no later than 4 August 2003, and up to but not exceeding 13,500 words in length, in conformity with the typeface set out in Practice Direction IT/184 Rev.1.

Done in English and French, the English text being authoritative.
