I, ALPHONS ORIE, Judge of Trial Chamber I ("Chamber") of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia Since 1991 ("International Tribunal"), and Pre-Trial Judge in the present case;

Noting the "Order Summoning the Accused to Appear" for his initial appearance before the Trial Chamber on 26th September 2005 ("the Summons"), issued by myself on 9th September 2005;

NOTING that the Accused failed to appear as ordered on 26th September 2005;

NOTING the "Warrant of Arrest and Order for Surrender" for the Accused, filed on 28th September 2005;

NOTING the Scheduling Order for an Initial Appearance issued in this case today;

CONSIDERING the request made by certain officials of the press to the Communications Service of the International Tribunal;

PURSUANT TO RULE 81 (D) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal;

HEREBY ORDER that, subject to any further order of the Trial Chamber:

  1. the taking of still photographs by designated press photographers at the commencement of all proceedings in this matter is authorised as directed by the Chief of Security of the International Tribunal’s Security Service;

  2. the release of the audio visual record of all open sessions in this case is permitted as provided by the Registrar of the International Tribunal.
