2 [Status Conference]
3 [Open session]
4 --- Upon commencing at 10.09 a.m.
5 JUDGE SCHOMBURG: Once again, good morning. Please be seated for
6 the purpose of a Status Conference as foreseen in our Rules of Procedure
7 and Evidence. The first and main topic is today to ask Dr. Stakic in
8 person, what about his health? Do you have any problems at this point in
9 time; and in addition, do you have any complaints related to the situation
10 in the United Nations Detention Unit?
11 THE ACCUSED: [Interpretation] Good morning, Your Honours.
12 Currently, I have no problems which would deserve mention.
13 JUDGE SCHOMBURG: Thank you very much. You may be seated again.
14 Any other issues to be addressed in a Status Conference? This is
15 apparently not the case. Then let's express the hope that this was the
16 last Status Conference during the trial phase of this case because within
17 the next 120 days, at least we hope that we can hand down the judgement.
18 But as mentioned previously, we can't promise anything when we can hand
19 down the judgement. It's extremely difficult, but on the other hand we
20 are aware of the right of Dr. Stakic to know what will be the outcome of
21 the first instance in this case, and we will do whatever we can to be as
22 expeditious as possible.
23 I can't see any other contribution. And therefore, I hereby
24 declare this Status Conference closed. And I heard that for technical
25 reasons, it's not necessary to have an additional break.
1 --- Whereupon the Status Conference adjourned
2 at 10.11 a.m., to be followed by the hearing.
