The Tribunal's historic role in the prosecution of wartime sexual violence.
Rape and sexual violence were long perceived as the inevitable collateral damage in a conflict, until the ICTY and its sister Tribunal, the ICTR, demonstrated that wartime crimes of sexual nature were being used as tools of conflict and that those crimes could and must be punished by international law.
This documentary depicts the historic role that the two Tribunals have played in the prosecution and adjudication of wartime sexual violence, including gripping testimonies from witnesses and survivors who bravely gave evidence at trials, and interviews with former and current ICTY professionals who pioneered the prosecution of these crimes.
