THE APPEALS CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("the Appeals Chamber"),

BEING SEIZED OF an "Appellant’s Motion to Suspend Briefing Schedule, or Alternatively, for Extension of Time to File Appellant Brief", filed by Mr. Tihomir Blaskic ("the Appellant") on 4 April 2000 ("the Motion"), pursuant to sub-Rule 127 (B) of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence ("the Rules");

NOTING that the Motion requests suspension of the briefing schedule in respect of the Appellant’s Brief as laid down in Rule 111 of the Rules, on the ground of the need for the Appeals Chamber to first dispose of the matter of the translation of the original version of the Judgement--handed down by Trial Chamber I on 3 March 2000--into the English and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian languages, as well as the "Appellant’s Motion for the Production by the Office of the Prosecutor of Improperly Withheld Discovery Material, and Production by the Registrar of Trial Transcripts and Exhibits from other Lasva Valley Cases", filed on 4 April 2000 ("the Second Motion");

CONSIDERING the importance of the issues raised by the Second Motion;

HEREBY DECIDES to partly grant the Motion and suspend the briefing schedule laid down in Rule 111 until a final decision is made in respect of the Second Motion and the remainder of the Motion.

Done in both English and French, the English text being authoritative.
