2 [Status Conference]

3 [The appellant entered court]

4 --- Upon commencing at 2.51 p.m.

5 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Good afternoon. Could the representative

6 of the Registry please read the case.

7 THE REGISTRAR: Good afternoon, Your Honour. This is case number

8 IT-02-61-A, the Prosecutor versus Miroslav Deronjic.

9 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Thank you very much.

10 Now, the appearances, we'll start with the appellant.

11 MR. CVIJETIC: [Interpretation] Good afternoon, Your Honour. My

12 name is Slobodan Cvijetic, I am attorney-at-law, and I am Defence counsel

13 for the appellant Mr. Deronjic.

14 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Thank you very much, Mr. Cvijetic.

15 Mr. Deronjic, can you follow the proceedings?

16 THE APPELLANT: [Interpretation] Good afternoon, Your Honour. Yes,

17 I do hear you and I understand you. Thank you.

18 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Thank you very much.

19 Now, the appearances for the Prosecution.

20 MS. GOY: Good afternoon, Your Honour. Barbara Goy appearing for

21 the Prosecution, with senior appeals counsel Mr. Mark McKeon, and our case

22 manager Ms. Susan Grogan.

23 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Thank you, very much.

24 Now, we're having this Status Conference pursuant to Rule 65 bis.

25 The last one was in November 2004 and I understand the status of the case

Page 7

1 is that there is no pending motion; is that so, for the appellant?

2 So I want to allow the parties to raise any concerns relating to

3 the appeals or the detention conditions.

4 MR. CVIJETIC: [Interpretation] Your Honour, according to

5 Mr. Deronjic's application, the Defence intends to raise a matter related

6 to his family. Since this is a sensitive and confidential matter, we

7 will, within reasonable time, in a confidential motion, inform you and the

8 Chamber of what it is about. This is something that falls under the 65

9 bis rule so we would not wish to raise it here at this Status Conference.

10 Therefore, at this Status Conference, we don't have any matters to raise

11 but we do wish to announce that we will file an application,

12 confidentially, that relates to his family and is a very sensitive and

13 confidential issue.

14 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: Thank you very much.

15 The Prosecution?

16 MS. GOY: Thank you, Your Honour. No, there is nothing we would

17 like to raise.

18 JUDGE WEINBERG DE ROCA: So the only thing I want to mention is

19 that the Appeals Chamber is aiming to hold the hearing of the case during

20 the month of June, so you can schedule that at least it will not be before

21 June, but if it's on June will depend on the progress of this and other

22 cases.

23 So if there's nothing else to be raised, this Status Conference is

24 adjourned. Thank you very much.

25 --- Whereupon the Status Conference adjourned
