THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal"),

NOTING the "Prosecutor’s Request to Set the Prosecutor’s 24 July 1998 Application for an Order to the Republic of Croatia for Hearing on 8 January 1999" filed by the Office of the Prosecutor ("Prosecution") on 18 December 1998 ("the Request for Hearing on the 24 July Application"),

NOTING ALSO the "Prosecutor’s Request for Hearing on Hunton & Williams’ Legal Representation of both the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the accused Dario Kordic" filed by the Prosecution on 18 December 1998 ("the Request for Hearing on representation"),

HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:

  1. the Republic of Croatia shall file its written response to the Request for Hearing on the 24 July Application by Wednesday 6 January 1999, indicating in such response whether it is able to appear before the Trial Chamber at 10 a.m. on Friday 8 January 1999 or whether it seeks a short postponement to prepare for such hearing; and
  2. counsel for the accused Dario Kordic, the Republic of Croatia and the legal firm of Hunton & Williams shall file their written responses, if any, to the Request for Hearing on representation by Wednesday 6 January 1999, indicating in such response whether they are able to appear before the Trial Chamber at 10 a.m. on Friday 8 January 1999 or whether any one of them seeks a short postponement to prepare for such hearing.

The Trial Chamber will issue a further Scheduling Order in due course indicating the matters to be heard on Friday 8 January 1999. The closed session status conference shall commence immediately after the hearings, if any, on these matters.
