I, MOHAMED BENNOUNA, Judge of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal"),

HAVING BEEN APPOINTED as pre-trial Judge in this matter by virtue of an order of the Trial Chamber dated 12 January 1999,

BEING SEISED of a request for extension of time filed on 19 July 1999 on behalf of the accused, Miroslav Kvocka ("the Request"),

NOTING the Scheduling Order of the Trial Chamber issued on 8 June 1999 requiring the Defence to file pre-trial briefs by Friday 3 September 1999,

CONSIDERING the reasons given in support of the Request, in particular, that the Defence for Miroslav Kvocka seeks additional time in which to analyse the recent Appeals Chamber Judgement in Prosecutor v. Tadic and therefore requests an extension of time to 25 September 1999 in which to file its pre-trial brief,

PURSUANT TO Rule 127 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal ("the Rules"),

HEREBY GRANTS the Request and ORDERS that the Defence for each accused in this case shall have until Friday 24 September 1999 to file a pre-trial brief.

Done in both English and French, the English text being authoritative.
