THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("the International Tribunal"),
BEING SEISED of an "Amici Curiae Request for Authorisation From the Trial Chamber to Exceed the Number of Pages Permitted in the Practice Direction on the Length of Briefs and Motions", filed on 3 February 2004 ("Motion"), in which the Amici Curiae seek permission to file their Motion pursuant to Rule 98 bis beyond the page limit prescribed for Motions in the "Practice Direction on the Length of Briefs and Motions" ("Practice Direction")1,
NOTING that paragraph 5 of the Practice Direction requires Motions to
be filed within a
ten-page limit and that the Amici Curiae estimate the length of their
Motion to be approximately 90 pages,
CONSIDERING that this Motion is by its nature complex and involves a review of all the evidence covering the three indictments over two years of trial,
PURSUANT TO Rule 54 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence of the International Tribunal,
HEREBY GRANTS the Motion and ALLOWS Amici Curiae to file a Motion not exceeding 100 pages.
Done in English and French, the English text being authoritative.
