Jim
Landale, Spokesman for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:


Good
morning, I’ll be brief since I know that you are all keen to get back to the
ongoing cases.



On
18 September, the amici curiae in the Milosevic case filed a motion seeking
relief of time for the amici curiae pursuant to an order of the court.
Copies will be available after this briefing.


On
13 September, we received the Prosecution’s response to the "Presentation
on the illegality of the ICTY" filed by the accused Slobodan Milosevic
on 30 August 2001. Again, copies will be available after this briefing.



In
the Brdjanin and Talic case, the date for the start of the trial has been rescheduled
for 21 January 2002. This is to accommodate the Serbian orthodox New Year.



A
reminder that this afternoon there will be a motion hearing in the Sikirica
and others case, dealing with the joint submissions filed by the Prosecution
and the accused with regard to plea agreements between the parties.



And,
tomorrow there will be a provisional release hearing in the Krajisnik and Plavsic
case to deal with Krajisnik’s request for provisional release that was filed
on 9 August 2001.



Finally,
on Friday 21 September the oral arguments on sentencing in the Celebici case
will be presented before Trial Chamber III.
