Statement by the Prosecutor

Today, I have been informed of a report in a Swedish newspaper to the effect that an anonymous member of my Office allegedly stated that President Tudjman and Croatian Army Officers would be indicted on war crimes within the following six months.

I feel it necessary to state that any suggestion that such a decision has been taken by me is without any truth.

I regret that this newspaper choose to report an anonymous source without previous reference to me or anyone authorized to speak on my behalf.
