Mrs. Louise Arbour appointed as International Tribunal's Prosecutor

The United Nations Security Council adopted on 29 February 1996 Resolution 1047 (1996) appointing Justice Louise Arbour, from Canada, as the new Prosecutor of both the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.

Justice Arbour will take over Justice Goldstone's office on 1 October 1996.
