BLASKIC CASE: POSSIBLE PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY 19 FEBRUARY 1997


As announced at the end of last week, Judge McDonald has directed the Ministers of Defense of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Gojko Susak, and of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Ante Jelavic, to produce documents related to the Blaskic Case before Wednesday 19 February 1997 at 2 p.m. (see Press Release 156).


In case of non-compliance with this order she has directed that a public hearing be held on Wednesday 19 February at 2 p.m..


Judge McDonald has directed "a representative of the Republic of Croatia and the Defence Minister (...) or his representative to personally appear (...) to show cause of their non-compliance and inform [her] how and when they will comply (...)."


With regard to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Judge McDonald has directed Mr. Ante Jelavic, "as the successor of the Custodian of the Records of the Central Archive of what was formerly the Ministry of Defence of the Croatian Community of Herceg Bosna", or "a representative who is familiar with the location and contents of what was formerly the Central Archive of the Ministry of
Defence of the Croatian Community of Herceg Bosna"
to answer questions relevant to the production of the documents.
