Magdalena Spalińska, Spokesperson for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:
Good afternoon,
Following the Chamber’s Rule 98 bis decision dismissing Ratko Mladić’s motion for acquittal, the Defence case has been scheduled to begin on Monday, 19 May at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom I. The Pre-Defence conference is scheduled for Monday, 12 May at 9:30 a.m. also to be held in Courtroom I. Journalists wishing to cover either of these hearings should send an email to the ICTY Media Office.
In the case of Radovan Karadžić, last week the Chamber ordered the Defence case closed as of 1 May 2014. Closing arguments for the case are scheduled for 29 September through 2 October with the rebuttal for the arguments scheduled for 7 October.
Finally, last week, Judge Agius, Presiding Judge of the Appeals Chamber in the Stanišić and Župljanin case, designated himself as the Pre-Appeal Judge for all pre-appeal proceedings in this case.
