Registry and Chambers:

Jim Landale, Spokesman for Registry
and Chambers, made the following statement:

Good afternoon,

First, you should all have

referred one of its indictments to a national jurisdiction.
According the Tribunal’s Rules of Procedure and
Evidence, the parties have 15 days within which
to file a notice of appeal, should they wish to
do so. You can find the Decision on the Tribunal’s
website.

Trial Chamber II has scheduled
a hearing on Ramush Haradinaj’s motion for provisional
release for next Tuesday 24 May at 2.30 p.m. in

that hearing to explain the guarantees UNMIK is
able and willing to give
," and "an authorised

explain the host country’s position vis-à-vis
the Motion for Provisional Release
".

The Prosecutor will be in Vienna
tomorrow visiting the OSCE and in the course of
her visit to Vienna she will also meet with Austrian
officials, including the Federal Chancellor Wolfgang
Schussel, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ursula
Plassnik.

Questions:

Asked whether the Seselj case
might be referred to a court in Serbia, Landale
stated that he was not aware of any consideration
being given to such a step.

Asked if the OTP intended make
further 11bis proposals, Hartmann said that
the 11bis proposals until now had been initiated
by the OTP and that the Prosecution had not and
would never contemplate the deferral of a case like
the Seselj case. The Prosecution was eager to start
