Around 25 students from Zagreb University attended a presentation on the work and achievements of ICTY given by Outreach staff members Klara Dokmanović and Christopher Fry. The event was organised by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights as part of their Transitional Justice Programme.
“Some members of society today still do not know or want to recognise what happened during the conflict, but the huge amount of ICTY evidence can never be erased. These facts will help society, now and in the future, to understand the truth about the conflict,” said one student. As the discussion swung towards the issue of wartime sexual violence, the students were shown a short film on the subject produced by the Outreach programme. Another student said that the testimony of certain witnesses had really caught his attention. “They motivated me to learn more about the Tribunal,” he said.
