CELEBICI TRIAL RESCHEDULED
The joint trial of the four accused in the Celebici Indictment has been rescheduled for MONDAY 10 MARCH 1997 at the request of the Defence.
During a closed status conference held today, Trial Chamber II permitted a postponement of the trial in order to allow the defence lawyers more time to prepare their cases.
The trial had been due to begin on 28 January 1997.
The accused-Zejnil DELALIC, Zdravko MUCIC, Hazim DELIC and Esad LANDZO-are charged with committing serious violations of international humanitarian law at the Celebici detention camp in the Konjic municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Spring and Autumn of 1992. Their alleged crimes, which are said to have been perpetrated against Bosnian Serb victims from the Konjic
area, include murder; acts of torture, including rape; beatings; and inhumane treatment.
