Registry and Chambers:
Nerma Jelačić, Spokesperson for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:
First, a few points related to the start of the trial of Radovan Karadžić on Monday, 26 October. The accreditation process has now closed. The list of journalists who have received an accreditation for the first two days of trial will be published on our website on Thursday at 1pm.
Secondly, I’d like to make you aware that proceedings on 26 and 27 October will be broadcast live.
Third, in a decision rendered yesterday, the Three Judge Panel denied Karadžić’s Motion to recuse Judge Baird, finding that the Statute of the Tribunal does not limit the ability of Judges to serve at the Tribunal by virtue of age.
Turning now to the Administrative Hearing in the case of Vojislav Šešelj held yesterday, the Prosecution’s motion on imposition of counsel has been denied. Judge Antonetti also confirmed that Šešelj’s oral motion for the privileged status of his legal adviser, Zoran Krasic, to be restored cannot be addressed by the Trial Chamber as a decision by the President of the Tribunal on the appeal on this issue has yet to be rendered.
Turning now to the courtroom schedule:
A Status Conference in the case of Zdravko Tolimir will be held tomorrow at 10:00 in Courtroom III.
Hearings in the trials of Mićo Stanišić and Stojan Župljanin continue tomorrow and next week as scheduled.
Hearings in the trial of Gotovina and others resume next Monday, 26 October at 9:00 in Courtroom III.
The trial of Vlastimir Ðorđević, Prlić and others and Momčilo Perišić all resume next Monday afternoon, 26 October at 14:15.
Two appeal hearings have been scheduled for next week in the cases of Haradinaj and others and Boškoski and others. The Haradinaj appeal hearing will be held on 28 October at 9:00 in Courtroom I. The Boškoski and others appeal hearing will be held on 29 October at 9:00 also in Courtroom I.
Franko Simatović has been granted provisional release from 19 October until 25 November in order to facilitate the expeditious preparation of his defence. The trial of Jovica Stanišić and Franko Simatović will resume during the week commencing 30 November.
Last week the Appeals Chamber announced it will render its judgement in the case of Dragomir Milošević on 12 November at 9:00.
Finally please note that the Tribunal will be closed this Friday 23 October for UN Day.

Olga Kavran, Spokesperson for the Office of the Prosecutor, made no statement.
Questions:
A journalist asked for confirmation that the Karadžić trial would be taking place on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
The Spokesperson confirmed that the opening words of the Prosecution have been scheduled for Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon.
