Nerma Jelačić, Spokesperson for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:

Good afternoon,

Closing arguments are being heard this week in the case of Vlastimir Dorđević, former Assistant Minister of the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Chief of its Public Security Department, on trial for war crimes committed against Kosovo Albanians. The Prosecution presented its closing arguments yesterday, and are seeking 35 years to life imprisonment. The Defence are presenting their closing arguments this morning, and have confirmed they are seeking a judgement of acquittal.

The hearing of closing arguments in the case of Gotovina and others has been postponed due to scheduling issues, and shall be heard between 30 August 2010 and 2 September 2010. The dates for the hearing of closing arguments had originally been scheduled for 25 to 27 August 2010.

A Status Conference in the case of Milan Lukić and Sredoje Lukić will be held this afternoon at 3 p.m. in Courtroom III.

Hearings in the case of Mićo Stanišić and Stojan Župljanin resume tomorrow, Thursday 15 July at 9.00 in Courtroom III. An afternoon session will also be held, commencing 14.15. Hearings then resume this Friday 16 July at 9.00 in Courtroom III and continue next week as scheduled.

Hearings in the trial of Jovica Stanišić and Franko Simatović were cancelled this week due to issues of witnesses availability. Hearings resume on Monday 19 July at 14.15 in Courtoom II and continue next week as scheduled.

The trial of Zdravko Tolimir adjourned yesterday and will resume after the summer recess on Tuesday 17 August at 14.15 in Courtroom III.

Hearings in the trials of Momčilo Perišić and Radovan Karadžić continue this week and next as scheduled.
