Nerma Jelačić, Spokesperson for Registry and Chambers, made the following statement:

Good afternoon,

Trial Chamber III ordered yesterday that the trial of Vojislav Šešelj resume on Tuesday, 12 January 2010. It has dismissed the Prosecution’s motion on assignment of counsel and additional time for examination of witnesses and ordered that the trial resume with the testimony of one Prosecution witness and seven further witnesses who will be called by the Chamber. More details about the decision are available in a press release issued earlier today.

Onto the courtroom schedule for this week and next:

On Monday, 30 November, a Pre-Defence conference in the case of Vlastimir Ðorđević will be held at 10:30 in Courtroom I.

Hearings in the trial of Jovica Stanišić and Franko Simatović resume on Monday afternoon in Courtroom II.

The trials of Gotovina and others, Prlić and others as well as Mićo Stanišić and Stojan Župljanin will continue this week and next as scheduled.

The Tribunal will be closed on Friday for a UN holiday.
