Invitation to premieres of ICTY Outreach documentaries in Sarajevo, Belgrade, Zagreb and Dubrovnik

| The Hague |

The Tribunal’s Outreach Programme invites the media and general public to the premieres of its two latest documentaries, Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad and Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage.

Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad tells the story of the judicial response to the tide of ethnic cleansing that swept through the municipality of Višegrad during the war. It gives an insight into the investigation, prosecution and judicial findings related to these crimes by the ICTY.

Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage provides an overview of the Tribunal’s work in adjudicating crimes of systematic destruction of institutions dedicated to religion, education or culture. Using the trials for crimes committed during the 1991 siege of Dubrovnik as a case-study, the film shows how the ICTY advanced the understanding of crimes against the heritage and the criminal context in which they take place.

Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad will be screened in Sarajevo and Belgrade; Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage will be screened in Zagreb and Dubrovnik. The screenings will be followed by a question and answer session with representatives of the ICTY.

The Sarajevo screening of Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad will take place at the Sarajevo University Rectorate (Obala Kulina bana 7/II), on Thursday, 17 March 2016, at 14:00.

The Belgrade screening of Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad will be held at the Ethnographic Museum - Art Cinema (Studentski trg 13), on Friday, 18 March 2016, at 18:00.
