Invitation to Prijedor documentary screening in Belgrade and Novi Sad
The Tribunal’s Outreach Programme invites journalists to the Serbian premiere of its documentary "Crimes before the ICTY: Prijedor," which depicts the Tribunal’s work in the prosecution and adjudication of crimes committed in the municipality of Prijedor in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The premiere will take place at the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina in Novi Sad (Zmaj Jovina 3/I), on Wednesday, 17 April 2013, at 14:00.
A second screening will be held at the Center for Cultural Decontamination/CZKD in Belgrade (Paviljon Veljković, Birčaninova 21), on Thursday, 18 April 2013, at 16:00.
This Outreach produced documentary features the suffering and crimes that occurred in the area of Prijedor and related cases heard before the ICTY. Through testimonies of survivors and abundant documentary material used in the court proceedings, the film reconstructs war crimes committed in Prijedor, how they were revealed and subsequently prosecuted by the Tribunal.
The screening in Belgrade will be followed by a panel discussion involving Nerma Jelačić, Head of Communication Services, ICTY; Petar Finci, Film Director and Producer, ICTY; and Representatives of the Heartefact Fond (‘4 Faces of Omarska’ Project).
“Crimes Before the ICTY: Prijedor” is the second feature-length documentary produced by the Outreach Programme in an effort to bring the work of the ICTY closer to the local communities in the former Yugoslavia.
