Today, Thursday 17 November 2005, the permanent judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) held an Extraordinary Plenary Session to elect the new President and Vice President of the ICTY for a two-year term.
The judges elected Judge Fausto Pocar (Italy) as President of the Tribunal, and Judge Kevin Parker (Australia) as Vice-President, effective immediately.
