Launch of Albanian version of the Manual on Developed Practices  to be held in Kosovo

On Tuesday, 30 October, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) will launch the Albanian translation of the ICTY Manual on Developed Practices in Pristina, Kosovo.

The Manual is part of a broader Developed Practices project, produced in cooperation with the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). The translation into Albanian was made possible through the generous donation of the Swiss government. It is the first publication that provides a comprehensive description of the operating practices developed at the ICTY since its establishment.

The launch, which is organized by the Tribunal’s Outreach Programme, will be opened by H.E. Krystyna Marty Lang, the Swiss Ambassador to Kosovo, after which Head of ICTY Chambers Ms Catherine Marchi-Uhel will present the Manual to the audience consisting of representatives of Kosovo judiciary, government, civil society and academia. Local experts, Mr Lavdim Krasniqi, Director of Kosovo Judicial Institute and Mr Bekim Blakaj, Executive Director of Humanitarian Law Centre, will offer their views on the usefulness of the Manual and of the Tribunal’s work for the Kosovo judiciary and civil society.

The launch of the publication is funded by the European Union, a long-time supporter of the Tribunal’s Outreach Program.

The media are invited to attend the event on Tuesday, 30 October at Hotel Sirius: Rr. Agim Ramadani, 10000 Pristina, Kosovo. Journalists wishing to participate should send an email to press [at] icty.org for accreditation by 25 October by 12:00pm.
