MOMCILO GRUBAN ON PROVISIONAL RELEASE




On Saturday 20 July 2002, Momcilo Gruban was provisionally released from the ICTY Detention Unit, pursuant to a Decision on 17 July by Trial Chamber III, comprised of Judges Richard May (Presiding), Patrick Robinson and O-Gon Kwon.




The Chamber’s Decision followed a Motion filed on 6 June 2002, by the Defence of Gruban and a Response to the Motion filed by the Office of the Prosecutor dated 17 June 2002. A written guarantee provided jointly by the Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Serbia was filed on 21 June 2002. The Trial Chamber heard the parties and the Government of the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia at a hearing on 9 July 2002.




The Order sets out a number of terms and conditions to be complied with by Gruban during his provisional release. Among other terms the accused will have to return to the Tribunal at such time and at such date as the Trial Chamber may order.
