President Cassese seeks assurances from Belgrade and Sarajevo on cooperation with ICTY

Following his recent visit to Zagreb, the President of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, Judge Antonio Cassese, today resumes his series of talks with senior officials of the various parties to the Dayton Agreement.

On Wednesday 5 June 1996, President Cassese travels to Belgrade for meetings with Prime Minister Kontic and Deputy Prime Minister Uros Klikovac; Mr. Milan Milutinovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Dr. Radoman Bozovic, Federal President of the Chamber of Citizens.

On Thursday 6 June 1996, President Cassese will be in Sarajevo for meetings with Ambassador Robert Frowick, the head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe's mission in Bosnia; Carl Bildt; and the Federal Minister of Justice, Mr. Tadic.

The purpose of these talks is to certify directly the degree of cooperation with the ICTY by all parties involved in the implementation of Dayton.

President Cassese will report his conclusions to the mid-term Conference on Dayton to be held on 13 and 14 June 1996 in Florence (Italy).
