Radislav Krstic Transferred to the United Kingdom to Serve his Prison Sentence
Today, 20 December 2004, Radislav Krstic was transferred to the United Kingdom to serve his sentence, as handed down by the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
On 19 April 2004, Radislav Krstic was sentenced to 35 years’ imprisonment following his conviction for aiding and abetting the genocide committed at Srebrenica in July 1995. (see Press Release 839e).
Fifteen other accused have been transferred and are serving their sentences: Dusko Sikirica and Mitar Vasiljevic in Austria; Dusko Tadic and Dragoljub Kunarac in Germany; Stevan Todorovic, Drago Josipovic, Vladimir Santic and Darko Mrdja in Spain; Zoran Vukovic, Radomir Kovac and Dragan Obrenovic in Norway; Goran Jelisic in Italy; Biljana Plavsic in Sweden; and Hazim Delic and Esad Lanzo in Finland.
