Ratko Mladić Start of Trial – Accreditation procedure now open
Ratko Mladić |
The accreditation procedure for those wishing to attend the Prosecution’s opening statements in the case of Ratko Mladić is now open.
Requests for accreditation will be accepted for the first two days of trial, covering the Prosecution’s opening statements, scheduled for Wednesday, 16 May and Thursday, 17 May from 9:00 to 13:45 in Courtroom I.
The Prosecution is expected to call its first witness on Tuesday, 29 May. A separate accreditation procedure will be put in place and the media will be informed accordingly.
Due to space limitations, all media representatives wishing to enter the court building on those days must submit an accreditation request. Accreditation requests must be submitted by Monday, 14 May at 12:00.
Other members of the public wishing to attend the opening statements should send an email to kralt.icty [at] un.org for more information on the procedure and space available.
Final media information and accreditation lists will be posted on the Tribunal’s website after 16:00 on Monday, 14 May.
Two different types of accreditation will be provided to as many journalists as possible: one for access to the lobby of the Tribunal and courtroom’s public gallery and the second one for access to the Tribunal’s lobby only.
Journalists are required to pick up their accreditation tickets on Tuesday, 15 May from 13:00 to 17:00 at the gate outside of the Tribunal’s main entrance.
Members of the media are invited to familiarise themselves with the official procedure for gaining access to the ICTY main building and courtrooms.
