CELEBICI TRIAL ACCREDITATION
The "Celebici" Trial will begin on Monday 10 March 1997 at 10.00 am.
This is the first joint international criminal trial (four accused) to be held before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, and the first since Nuremberg and Tokyo.
The accused-Zejnil DELALIC, Zdravko MUCIC, Hazim DELIC and Esad LANDZO-are charged with committing serious violations of international humanitarian law at the Celebici detention camp in the Konjic municipality of Bosnia and Herzegovina between the Spring and Autumn of 1992. Their alleged crimes, which are said to have been perpetrated against Bosnian Serb victims from the Konjic
area, include murder; acts of torture, including rape; beatings; and inhumane treatment.
After the opening day of the "Celebici" Trial, the case before Trial Chamber II will be heard all day Tuesday and on Wednesday morning. The remainder of this first week, Trial Chamber I will sit for motion hearings in the Blaskic case, also in open session.
If you are planning to attend the trial proceedings, please fill out the form below and fax it back to the Press and Information Office before 8 March 1997.
