TADIC CASE : WITHDRAWAL OF ASSIGNED DEFENCE COUNSEL AND ASSIGNMENT OF NEW LEAD COUNSEL GRANTED TO THE ACCUSED

In an Order dated 22 April 1997, the Trial Chamber presided over by Judge McDonald and composed of Judge Stephen and Judge Vohrah granted the request by the accused for the withdrawal of Mr. Michaïl Wladimiroff, who was his lead counsel since 1 May 1995.

The Judges considered that "the trial of the accused has been completed and is awaiting issue of the Judgement and thus the withdrawal of counsel will not in any way delay the current proceedings".

Subsequently, the Judges directed the Registrar to withdraw the assignment of Mr. Wladimiroff.

The assignment was withdrawn on Wednesday 23 April by the Registrar who assigned Mr. Milan Vujin as lead counsel for the accused.
