Judges adopt Resolution on London Peace Conference during their twelth Plenary Session

The Judges of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia held their twelfth plenary session on 2 and 3 December 1996.

1. The Judges heard reports from the President of the Tribunal, Antonio Cassese, the Registrar, Dorothee De Sampayo and the Head of the Press and Information Office, Christian Chartier. They also met with the Prosecutor, Louise Arbour, and the Deputy Prosecutor, Graham Blewitt, to discuss organisational matters.
Additionally, Adriaan Bos, the Chairman of the UN Preparatory Commission on the establishment of a Permanent Court, presented a report on the Commission's work.

2. Some amendments to the Rules of Procedure and Evidence and to the Rules of Detention were adopted by the Judges.

3. Finally, the Judges adopted a resolution on the London Conference of 4 - 5 December on Peace Implementation in the former Yugoslavia.
