The Trial Chamber III of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) today acquitted Vojislav Šešelj, President of the Serbian Radical Party and a former member of the Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

The Office of the Prosecutor welcomes the Trial Chamber’s judgment convicting Radovan Karadžić of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes and sentencing him to forty years of imprisonment.


The Tribunal today launched three new online resources providing additional information on the Karadžić case: the Hearing List; the collection of all public videos from the case; and the entire collection of public exhibits.


The accreditation procedure has opened for those wishing to attend the Šešelj Trial Judgement scheduled for Thursday 31 March 2016, from 10:00, in Courtroom I.      


Due to the public’s high interest in attending the delivery of the trial judgement for Radovan Karadžić on 24 March, all available spaces in and around the Tribunal are now at maximum capacity.


The accreditation procedure for the Radovan Karadžić judgement, scheduled for 24 March, has now closed.

Information and accreditation will be emailed to journalists by Friday, 18 March 17:00.


The Tribunal’s Outreach Programme invites the media and general public to the premieres of its two latest documentaries, Crimes before the ICTY: Višegrad and Dubrovnik and Crimes against Cultural Heritage.


On International Women’s Day, the Tribunal pays tribute to the courage and determination of women who have played an extraordinary role in strengthening the international justice system.


The ICTY President Carmel Agius held today a briefing for the diplomatic community in The Hague on the work of the Tribunal, as well as on his priorities and plans for the biennium.
